Ford Cortina 3.0 XR6 - Multi Award Winner - Absolutely Stunning

1981 Ford Cortina XR6 3.0 Saloon. Genuine factory built vehicle which we brought in to the UK in 2020. We sold it to a customer of ours who set about it and carried out a full nut and bolt restoration. The results are stunning and this car has picked up trophies at almost all of the shows it has attended. It was invited onto the Meguliars Stand at the NEC Classic Car show in 2021.
The owner has spent fortunes on it including a Rik Wood rebuilt engine. The car starts runs and drives as it should and will turn heads wherever it goes. Its not cheap but try finding one, let alone building one to this standard.

Body - Genuine South African XR6 with 5 link back axle set up. The car was stripped to a shell and only required a very minimal amount of metalwork. It was then taken back to bare metal and repainted in its original Venetian Red with black accents. The paintwork is superb and all the detail is correct. It has genuine Ford logod matching, headlamps and spotlamps, NOS rear lights, original matching glass and top tint windscreen, rear window louvre, correct colour coded bumpers.

Mechanics - Engine rebuilt by Rick wood Motorsport, which included modyfying the crank. The following items were replaced. Main Bearings , big end bearings, con rods , pushrods, big end bolts with uprated ones, aldon elctronic ifnition system, high comp steel head gaskets, fuel pump, custom stainless exhaust system, fuel pump, uprated to 5 spoeed gearbox with original 4 speed knob. 2.8 Granada vented discs and calipers, goodrich brake hoses, electric cooling fan, steering rack, poly bushes fitted at front, wishbones, fuel tank, mph speedo fitted, clutch cable, speedo cable, leads, starter motor, carburettor.

Interior - All original. The seats required minor refurbishment which was professionally done. Good door cards with no speaker holes. Good dash top, headlining and carpet.

Wheels - Uprated to Cortina Interceptor alloys which have been refurbished and fitted with Uniroyal 185/70/13 tyres.
